Open every Thur, Fri, and Sat from 1-5 p.m., with tours given by volunteer docents.

Photo and Document Archives

Copies of more than 25,500 photos and documents pertaining to the history of the city have been archived in a publicly accessible database.

Permanent Exhibits

Among the permanent exhibits are:

  • The Fourth Order Fresnel lens that graced the top of the Lydia Ann Lighthouse from 1878 to 1952
  • The bell from the train that brought the rocks to build the jetties
  • Films of Port Aransas in the 1920s and 1930s
  • Video interviews with important islanders
  • Much more!
