Tool Box (10 spots) $100

(June 3–6) Every builder deserves their own tool box. Join us for an exciting workshop where you'll learn to construct your very own toolbox, measuring 2ft by 1ft. Personalize it to suit your needs — add compartments for your screwdrivers or get creative with a unique design. Throughout the session, you'll gain hands-on experience using a band saw, various hand tools and a drum sander. Don’t miss this chance to create a functional and personalized toolbox just for you!

Bat House (10 Spots)  $100

(June 10–13) Did you know that Texas is home to more than 100 million Mexican free-tailed bats? This 12”x8” bat house can house about six bats. You can provide them a cool place to hang and at night you can watch as they go off for their meals. Come build one for yourself and you can watch as it becomes home for these amazing animals.

Bird House (10 Spots) $100

(June 17–20) There is something special about building bird houses and seeing them become part of the environment. You will create a home for your bird of choice. Once you have decided which bird you would like to try to attract, we will do some research to determine the size of house. After it is built you will be able to get creative with it; you can use stencils, do wood burning, carve or paint your birdhouse the way you want it.

Model Farley Boat “Port A Skiff" (5 Spots) $150

(June 24–28) This boat is a scale model of the very first 16-ft Port A Skiff that was built in Port Aransas by Doyle Marek in the late 1960s. Doyle came to the current location of Farley Boat Works in 2011 and taught volunteers how to build the skiffs we are still building today. We will take the measurements and angles straight from the full size boat and learn how to scale it down to make our model. We will learn how to use hand tools, a band saw and a chop saw. You will then have the chance to paint and decorate your boat in any way you want!

July 1-4 Closed for Holiday

Cutting Board (10 Spots) $100

(July 8–11) Make your very own customized cutting board from a variety of woods. Design your cutting board in any shape you desire. The possibilities are endless! Feeling Texas proud? Shape it like the Lone Star State. Passionate about marine life? Why not create a dolphin design? By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a stunning cutting board that’s perfect for everyday use or special occasions!

Farley Fighting Chair (5 Spots) $200

(July 15–18) Inspired by the iconic chairs used for tarpon fishing in Port Aransas from 1915 to 1970. These chairs can be used anywhere! They are a comfortable seat for your porch, or take to relax at the beach.

5 Day Boat Building Course (10 Spots) (Age limit: 14 yrs) $500

(July 21–25) Join us in creating a piece of maritime history! We are excited to offer you the chance to explore the craft of wooden boat building. Over the course of one week, we will construct the classic “Port Aransas Skiff.” This 14-foot flat-bottom boat can be used as a row bow or it can be equipped with a 5-10 hp outboard motor with a 15-inch shaft, making it ideal for exploring the local flats and cuts.

Participants in this boat-building workshop will also be entered into a raffle, with one participant taking home the wooden boat at the end of the event!

To participate, you must be at least 14 years old, and spots are limited to just 10 participants. Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity!
