Charles FergusonFarley Boat Works lost a treasured volunteer last week. Charles Ferguson, age 75, transitioned to the spirit world in the arms of loved ones on May 5, 2023.

Charles, a longtime resident of Port Aransas, Texas, was a bold, gentle, and heroic figure. His kind heartedness touched the lives of many beings here on earth, and those that preceded him are fortunate to have this one-of-a-kind individual among them once again.

When Charlie’s eyes met yours, they could tell an entire story without words. Not that he didn’t have stories to tell! He was one that could tell you all about the history of a place, a person, of things forgotten to the past, and he listened when others spoke. Charles was spiritual with values beyond religion, and lived according to his pro-environment and anti-establishment beliefs.

An Eagle Scout, Vietnam Veteran, boat builder, welder, shrimper and fixer of absolutely everything, Charles led a simple life full of adventure. His ability to find peace and acceptance in situations was calming to those around him. A loving husband, cat parent, and true family to so many, he will be greatly missed.

Charles leaves behind his sister-in-law Antoinette Miller of Belize, niece Pandora Gaudino of Belize, grandniece Jazmine Gaudino of Los Angeles, and niece Haley Horan of Houston, nephew Damian Horan of Los Angeles, closest cousin Barbara Lamson of Port Aransas, closest friend Kathy O’Donnell of Port Aransas and beloved cat Nine. He joins his beloved wife Suzanne Gaudino, his parents Earl and Juanita Ferguson and many cats that went before him.

A celebration of life will be held at Farley Boat Works on Friday May 12th, 2023 at 3 p.m.

Please join us to make tribute to Charles. If desired, friends may make memorial contributions to Farley Boat Works or the animal sanctuary of your choice.
