On February 13, Our Winter lecture series highlighted storytelling from three born-and-raised Port Aransas residents. Macky Ward talked about his grandfather, his home and the connections to Gail Borden Munsell in the late 1920. Jimmy Gates talked about growing up on the island, Shorty’s and his dad’s gambling business and philanthropy. Mary Jo Brundrett talked about the early settlers on St. Joseph Island and the wreck of the steamship Mary.
