“Summer of ’42: The Coastal Bend at War” is a KRIS 6 News World War II documentary special. When Japan attacked Pearl Harbor in late 1941, Corpus Christi had already been a city increasing in population and economic growth; a new Navy base graduated pilots. As the United States was ramping up for war, the Coastal Bend joined in the fight.
