Chapel on the Dunes Tours
First and third Saturday of each month.
The Chapel on the Dunes was built between 1937 and 1938 by Aline B. Carter, who was called the “White Angel” because of her flowing, white organdy dresses and loving service to the community.
Weddings
Visit the Chapel on the Dunes website to inquire about weddings in the Chapel.
Tours
Tours are only available by reserving a spot in advance.
Tours fill up quickly. Please call 361-749-3800 and leave a message to reserve a spot. Your spot is not confirmed until you receive a confirmation text message. This text message will have the instructions on where to meet, time, place, and how long the tour will last.
Please do not just show up at the Museum or at the Chapel as it is very small and it is disrespectful to those who have made advanced arrangements.
This is a very spiritual tour for many and we want everyone to have the best experience. We are doing are best to accommodate all the interest so please be patient with your Docent and respectful to those on your tour.
Between Tours
The chapel is locked between tours, however, you may walk up to the Chapel and view its exterior at any time if there isn’t anyone there. Private ceremonies and tours should be respected. These people have planned well in advance for this time and we all need to do our part to respect that.
