Sunset Cruise on the Historic 1933 Motor Yacht “Aurora Reyes”

The winner of this Sunset Cocktail Cruise for six will be swept back in time as they leisurely motor along the Intracoastal waters aboard the Aurora Reyes, a fully restored 38 foot wooden yacht. Accompanied by graceful pelicans and dolphins, Captain and crew will guide this very lovely craft past the Historic Lydia Ann Lighthouse, jetties, and ferry boats. Toast times gone by and times to come while enjoying the fortunes of the present and a spectacular Port Aransas sunset. You will not find a more elegant boat on the Texas Gulf Coast or more memorable cruise.
The Aurora Reyes was built in 1933 by Frank M. Weeks in Long Island, New York. — the same year Ernest Hemingway’s boat, The Pilar, was built with the same design at the Wheeler Shipyard. The Aurora Reyes has recently been restored from the keel up. She has been outfitted with modern diesel propulsion, generator, air conditioning, refrigeration, stove, and marine head. She is also equipped with state-of-the-art computerized navigation equipment and communication systems – all of which can be concealed to the human eye or any camera.
This massive restoration effort of The Aurora Reyes (aurorareyes1933.com) was for it’s planned role in the film, “Islands in the Stream”, an adaptation by Tommy Lee Jones and Bill Wittliff based on the novel by Ernest Hemingway.
